Pete Davis Shoot At Buckhorn Gun Club

Post by smokem »

Jimmy Wilson did his best to break the 1st 200 at BGC and came up a bird short. He led all shooters on a moist hot humid day. Winky mabe outgunned all handicap shooters with a solid 94 with Gail Page and Karole Miller close behind with 93's. Jimmy Wilson broke a solid 95 after dutching a pair in the 1st 50.

The shoot was held "In Memory" of NC Hall Of Famer P. E. Pete Davis and Phil was there today shooting singles like always. His dad will be sorely missed and he was a prince of a man.

We had a few visitors including Travis Alfrey from Pinehurst and Steve Watson from Blowing Rock. It was great meeting both of these shooters and we hope to see them down this way again soon. Steve shoots with the Watauga Cartel and maybe we can slide up there to spread some lead in the holler.

James Tice drove up from Salisbury and shot well today. We talked about the upcoming HOF shoot and also the shoot at Hog Heaven. Hopefully he can make it to TN event this Fall. I also had the pleasure of meeting Lt. C.J. Ragan the father of Baxter Ragan. Hopefully we will get the chance of meeting Baxter in the near future. Evidenlty Baxter is a football player along with being a good trapshooter.

They will be shooting Sunday so drive down and partake of the 300 target program that they are offering. I will post the scoresheets for your viewing pleasure.

Even Jack enjoyed the Vanilla ice cream when he wasn't being sniffed out by little Radar.

"Baxter" answers to his new name just fine. After discussion with his ma, pa and sister it was determined that it fits and he wears it well.

That was not the only name change either. Redneck Barbie doesn't hear so well, soooooo as she was writing down shooters names for handicap, she understood Walter Mabe to say that his name was "Wanker". Take it for what it's worth, popular opinion is that she had blonde in her ears......

Have a great day! Dan
