The Rockingham Gun Club held their monthly Lewis Class Fun shoot Sunday the 26th of June. Start time was 2PM and the weather was a little toasty with varying cloud cover. The wind wasn't too bad and much less than the Elmo shoot Saturday.
The singles took off on time and when the smoke cleared there were four tied with 48's. They included Lewis Wyatt, JC Nunn, Charlie Rinehart and Freddy Redmon. When the caps cranked up there were four squads and the fun was about to begin.
Lewis was the ref on field one and he watched the crippler mash 24 on his first trap. Lewis really didn't know what the crippler had until Lane told him after JC broke a 23 for a solid 95. Lewis had his work cut out for him and had 50 birds to do it.
I had the pleasure to ref for Lewis on his second trap and noticed he had broken a 24 on his first trap. Lew knew that I knew what Lew had to do. Lewis was shooting on a 3-man squad and they commenced to pounding. Lewis dropped 2 birds in his first 15 and had ten to go. Lewis handled the pressure and wound up tying his nemesis JC Nunn.
Gary Daniels wound up winning the second Lewis and Ray Shisler took the 3rd Lewis. There was a drawing for door prizes with shells, oil and tools given away. Everybody had a great time and we hope you can join us for our shoot July 23rd.
Thanks to all that attended and to all the folks that helped.

Nunn - Wyatt - Daniels - Shisler
