Was it nice in North Carolina over the weekend because it was nice at the beach. Left Thursday and got back Sunday and it was great. No shoots in NC this weekend with a gaggle of shoots this Saturday and Sunday.
The Hog Heaven crew held their 4-day event, and it looks like 6 NC folks showed up including Connie and Mickey Bell. Dan Johnson informed me that Tim “Kolar” Crabtree won his class in one of the prelim singles events. The last time I checked there were no scores reported from the championship weekend. They say it is a great place to shoot and hope to make it up there one day.
There is no excuse to not get out and shoot this weekend in North Carolina. Watauga, Durham and Rocky Mount are all holding registered events this Saturday and Buckhorn will pick up all the stragglers on Sunday. It looks like they are posting programs on Facebook, and I will try to get the info and post it over here on the website. Not sure any of the clubs except Durham are posting programs on the www.shootata.com club info link. I posted the Durham County info that was posted on the ATA site.
Some sad news to report and Alabama shooter Jesse Burgher let me know Andy Ledford had passed. I have posted his obit info and a couple of pictures in the finished careers section in the lodge. Ethan came on the scene in 2019 and has put up some amazing scores and was just inducted into the Georgia Hall of Fame at age 21. I believe he is the only Georgia shooter to win the Championship singles, doubles and handicap and HOA at the GA State Shoot. His dad will be sorely missed and was an armorer for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Please keep the family in your prayers at this time.
