Just a week before the Memorial Day weekend and I hope you help honor the women and men that gave their life for this country. Always a busy time for the beaches and the mountains with folks enjoying a day off. Several shoots last week and a couple of shooting events this weekend.

CCLEOA shot Friday and Stephen Cox won the singles, handicap and the HOA. Richard Evans won the doubles. Their next BIG50 will be held in October so check NCTA shoot calendar for that future date.

Buckhorn hosted a two-day shoot, and Saturday produced a bit of rain and some high winds. Eric Blakeney and BigD Tollison tied with 96’s in the singles, Tim Gallagher won the caps with a 91 and no punch and Eric won the doubles and not sure but probably the HOA also. Sunday had some wind and no rain and a bigger crowd. Three 97’s in the singles with John Miller, Doug Monjeau and Eric Blakeney tied. Two 94’s in the caps with Greg Robinson and Cayson Clayton tied and a punch. John Miller broke a 95 to win the doubles and no info on the HOA. We should be able to fill in the blanks next week with the ties……

Two trap shooting events this Saturday with Old Hickory at Rocky Mount and the Watauga Gun Club. I sent a text to Morgan Shaw Sunday night, and he said they had been testing the ”two” PAT traps and the voice calls today. He will be posting the info on Facebook tonight regarding the shoot this Saturday. So, the shoot will be held on two traps and not the typical three trap format. I know they will be glad to get back to registering birds in Boone.

This Wednesday the 21st marks two weeks before the start of the North Carolina State Shoot at the NC Homegrounds. If you want to pre-squad, you will need to use the https://www.sosclays.com/services/presquad website. Of course, June can be a hot weather month, and the weather is always changing. Hopefully this will be a cooler start to the month.

If you are looking for a new story in Tall Tales & True Stories you might need to wait a few days. Dan traveled to Pennsylvania with Anthony and his grandson to compete in the Bob Johnson Golf Tournament. It will be interesting to see what he pops out next.
