Buckhorn hosted a 2-day July spur of the moment shoot this weekend. The temps were in the 90's and the rain held off both days. Great scores were broken both days and the faithful played games Saturday night. All in all everybody had a great time both days. Jimmy would like to thank everyone that came out to shoot and to all that helped make the shoot run so smooth.

A brief little bit of info about the games that were played Saturday night. Jimmy got all the teams together and put 11 year old Braxton Ragan with the grizzled PA shooter Camper Dan Johnson. In the first event Braxton broke all 5 of his targets from the 27 and backed Dan up twice with the pair winning that event.
In the next event the duo didn't fair too well. When Braxton finally missed one Camper Dan failed to back the lad up. A reliable source revealed the boos rose from the crowd when the target slid to the bank. Of course that is one side of the story and I would imagine I will publish the other side of the story Monday.
Mark you calendars for August 6th & 7th when the Buckhorn Gun Club shoots again..........

RE: Buckhorn Scores For July 2nd & 3rd, 2011
Now for the rest of the story.........
It's true, young Braxton did pick up the ONE target I missed in our first round of protection and yes it's true I did pick up only one for him that was missed in our second go 'round.....blame it on old age, poor vision, lack of ability, shooting a gun from the 27 I had never shot before or any other excuse I can come up with....
The neat thing is that Braxton had a riot, as did the rest of us.
I do seem to remember the crew getting a lesson in follow the leader that somehow failed to be mentioned....hhhmm a little bias in the reporting perhaps?
Have a great day! Dan
