June 29th Smoke Report

Great weekend and I hope you had a chance to get out and shoot. Three shooting events last week including Buckhorn, Watauga and Ft. Bragg. One shooting event over the 4th weekend and it happens at the Buckhorn Gun Club on the 4th and 5th. We also had NC shooters competing in Arkansas and Maryland.

Buckhorn held a BIG50 Wednesday and hopefully I will get some scores on Monday. While we are discussing Buckhorn they will be shooting Saturday and Sunday. Unless I am mistaken, they will probably shoot 100 singles, handicap and 50 pair of doubles both days. Not sure if they will be throwing on the feedbag Saturday night or not.

Watauga shot Saturday and they had a few showers and experienced some high winds. Morg and BIGD flipped for singles hi-gun with BIGD the winner and the winner of the caps and dubs and HOA. BIGD wound up putting on the right glasses and ran 50 straight on his second trap of doubles. WGC shoots next on July 27 +28.

Fort Bragg shot Sunday and 14 shooters showed up for some sandhill fun. Stephen Cox won the singles with a 99, Richard Evans won the caps with 94 and Isaac McCoy won the doubles with a 94. George Powell emerged from South Carolina to win the HOA with 98+92+90=280. Ft. Bragg shoots next on my birthday August 16th.

The Arkansas State shoot in Jacksonville Arkansas is in the books and two NC shooters participated. AR resident Dan Johnson had to shoot as an out-of-state shooter because he hasn’t been living in AR for 6 months. James Fisher flew out to have some fun and see how a big state shoot is run. I have posted info and pictures in out-of-state trapshoots so go take a look.

Jeff Galloway participated in the Maryland State Shoot and Larry High was also in Thurmont. I know Jeff won his yardage group on Friday and Sunday and his class in doubles on Friday. As of midnight MD’s scores aren’t all posted so I will have to update and a later time.

That will do it for this week, and I hope everyone has a great 4th of July holiday. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, John, Art, Barron, Mark C, Mark S, Dan, John W, Jimmy D, SPY2, HGIII, Thea and Anne and until next week……smokem
