February 16th Smoke Report

Post by smokem »

After several weeks of wintry weather, we have returned to warmer temps and torrential rains. Have we seen the last of super cold weather only time will tell.

A couple of shooting events this weekend including a BIG50 at Rockingham and Watauga and a 300-target event at the Buckhorn Gun Club. Weather looks a little moist early Saturday, and the weather looks great Sunday. Get out and get some birds in with the weather as mild as it is.

The NCTA shoot calendar is up to date with dates for Ft. Bragg, Old Hickory and Durham County Wildlife Club. The only club not listing dates is the Charlie Brown Gun Club and I imagine they are planning some Sunday BIG50’s this year.

The TarHeelTrap website has been experiencing some technical issues, and I believe they will be fixed very soon. Justin emailed me with a plan to make the site more stable and available. I know the TarHeelTrap Facebook page is up and running and thanks to the admin for watching over that valuable source of info. TRAPnNC.freeforums.net was created as plan B to at least make the smoke report available on a weekly basis. There is a lot of work to do on both sites that is for sure. Thanks for your patience and there will be a lot of shooting info to report this year.

Ok that is about it for this week. George Sudderth is on the mend, and he actually got the Kolar out to see how the new hip is working. Looks like no pain when moving to the target and that is a good thing. Tom Shelley has a Kolar combo for sale in case anyone is interested.

Have a great week and hopefully we will have a couple of shoot reports and maybe a picture or two from the shooting events. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, John, Art, Barron, Mark C, Mark S, Dan, John W, Jimmy D, Thea and Anne and until next week……smokem
