Elmo Matkins Shoot Info

The first 100 started off in warm temps and with a breeze that wouldn't quit. I watched the Mabe-Carroll-Manuel-Rinehart-Miller squad go 24-25-25-24-24 with Winky and John missing their last target out. Danny Lloyd almost broke a 100 and missed a target on his last trap. John Miller was next high with a 98 with 97's broken by Winky Mabe and Charley Rinehart.
The second 100 there were only four 96's broken by Lane Murray, Jeff Galloway, Ronnie Manuel and John Miller. The wind kicked up a bit more during the 2nd hundred and lingered around for the handicap.
We shot 4 traps down the line and when Karole Miller came through my trap 2 she was a woman on a mission. She broke 25 hard on my trap and wound up winning the daily middle 50. Chase Reese broke a 25 on his last trap and so did Danny Lloyd.
We had the pleasure of meeting Jef Solomon's brother Don Saturday. He rode over from Winston Salem and shot the singles event with us. I must say that he might be the most physically fit trapshooter I have even seen and we hope he will return to the Rock and bring his brother very soon.
