2011 Georgia State Shoot Info

GA State Shoot Info
Sunday News: Jeff Galloway broke a 97 today in the Championship Doubles for Open Class A. He had a 99 in the AM singles and got to shoot in dwindling light and wound up with a 193. He broke a 92 in the caps this afternoon for a good weekend for sure. Unfortunately we don't have much more info than that.
Saturday News: 244 singles shooters shooting the wave on only "9" fields. They were up "76" shooters on Friday from last year 2010.

Addison and Jim Callan were shooting last night under the lights at 9:30 according to Hunter Galloway.

I don't really have any scores and all I know is that the weather was great.

The Georgia State Shoot is into the second day with clear skies and brisk winds. They shot the doubles this morning and Addison Callan won the SubJr with an 84.

Attendance is up and according to the locals they might even have close to 250 shooters for the Saturday singles. It will be interesting to see what the total will be for that event.

We will try to get more info and get it posted ASAP.

Hi Terry

Eleven NC Shooters attended the 88th Georgia State Shoot held at the South River Gun Club in Covington.

Addison and James Callan, Hunter and Jeff Galloway, Bill Howe, James Ivey III, Don Kaufman, Dominick Pagnotta,

Melvin Pempsell, George Ponton and Billy Thigpen.

The shoot started the day after all the horrible weather passed through the South and Thursday and Friday were pleasant although breezy at times.

Saturday and Sunday were perfect weather wise, bright sun and high 70’s. Turn out was a record with 263 shooters entered, 241 shot Saturday.

Bill, Billy and George shot all 1000 targets and had identical scores on the Singles Championship event.

NC shooters collected four trophies; Bill won Non Resident Senior Veteran Singles on Saturday with a 196 plus shoot off and Handicap on Sunday with a 94 and a shoot off.

Actually Bill had his gun at both shoot offs but never fired it!

Jeff won A Class N/R Doubles on Sunday with a 97. George won N/R Veteran Singles on Saturday with a 196 after a two round shoot off with Billy.

Billy tied for Vet Doubles on Friday but slipped on the carry over Sunday. James Ivey II tied for his yardage group on Friday with a 91 from the 23, however decided

Dinner was more important then waiting until dark for a shoot off.

Regards

George
