The weather at the Walter Gorman Memorial shoot in Rocky Mount was fantastic. I am sure the Big Man and Walter were smiling down on us throughout the two-day event. Tom Brown came down and wreaked havoc on the scoreboard by taking HOA for each day by posting identical 281/300 for a combined score of 562/600. Great shooting Tom! Morris Carroll set the bar on Saturday by runniing the Singles event. Al Mazza blasted a superb 97 in Caps and Tom Brown bested the field in Doubles with a 97.
The Bar-B-Que Chicken dinner was outstanding as expected and the results looked like a scene from a Dinosaur movie. There were bones everywhere. Not to mention the deserts; WOW is the best adjective I can come up with. Great job and a hats off to Janie (Roger's much better half), Jeri Wilson (Jimmy's much better half), and Jon Silberhorn's wife for the weight adding deserts.
Sunday came with another Blue-Bird sky for shooters. Greg High and the Fayetteville Mafia arrived and Greg disposed of singles event with a scorching 100 and many clouds of Alabama talcum powder. Glen Alford took Handicap honors with a 91. Greg High and Tom Brown tied for the Doubles crown with 95's. Greg won the flip.
We would like to thank Jim Wilson, Jeri Wilson, Jon Silberhorn, Janie Bynum, Kamm Bunting, Brandon Webb, Lou Carter, and anyone else I may have missed for their help with this shoot. We are truly blessed to have such great friends in this sport that we all love. This just makes these events more special. Thank you again.
