01/23/19 Low Country Big 50

We had a really nice day for breaking trap targets this week. Temp was in the low 60’s, no rain, cloudy and a few gusts at times. We had 11 shooters competing for singles. David Barron smoked all of us with a 50 straight to take top gun in singles. Nice shooting David. Pat Childers and Bill Mortensen tied for second with a pair of 44’s. A pair of 43’s shot by Terry Lewis and Tim Parvis finished third. Harold Smith took fourth with a 38 and two 37’s by Mike Anselmo and Bill Gugel were fifth.
When we got around to shooting caps there were 6 shooters left and the wind gusts became a steady blast of ugliness. I’ll put it this way as far as scores are concerned. Bill Mortensen finished with the high score in caps with a 39. The rest of us just stunk it up and should have saved our shells for another day.
