Buckhorn 4/10/2016

Post by straightaway »

Blue bird skies, green grass, trees all leafed out, bright orange new york style targets in the air. Could not ask for anything better right? Well, 20 more degrees and wind about 10 mph less would have made it perfect. 18 shooters took on the singles, 18 for handicap and 12 for doubles. It was one of those days when you might feel the wind at your back and the targets would go up, feel it in your face and have them dive to the dirt.

Randy Jones showed up from Boone and had those legs the color of a minnow's belly sticking out all over the place. He mentioned something about the sissy boys back home being afraid to come out and play....

Some things stayed the same, our resident porch sitter sat on the porch. Some different things happened too, Kevin Biss showed up sporting a Max TA Kolar, and what a beautiful piece of work it is. Cupcake Carol came in with her new "Barney" car, a pastel purple Challenger and Jeri showed up in a new Mustang, trying to prove that even a Granny can be sporty.

That's it for now. There are several that mentioned attending the Dogwood in a couple weeks. If you haven't been there, this is a great shoot with the best targets in the state being thrown at Bostic. Hope to see you there!

Until next time, shoot well and be safe. Dan
