April 30th Smoke Report

Hello to all and what a whirlwind first three days of the week. I get back from the Dogwood and get ready to do a little writing and poof the website is down hard. I send an email to the web host and he advises me that the old site is a hopeless cause and it is time to move on to another platform. Here we are and I will try to create a front page similar to the old site maybe one day. Until then all the old info is available and we will continue to trudge on and get info posted on TarHeelTrap.com.

I would like to say thanks to Justin Lecus for his understanding and all of his efforts in such a short period of time. CupCake emailed me this morning stating that she had posted the Charlie Brown program and I didn't even realize that the site was back up and running. Justin used to room with Jimmy Wislon's son Jimmy and the site has changed very little over the years. Jimmy Wilson and I with the excellent help of Justin have managed to keep the site up since I believe 2002 and that is going on 13 years in 2015.

I really enjoyed the Dogwood and hats off to all that made the shoot run so smoothly. The weather was great for the weekend and I really don't have a solid number on how many shooters attended this year over 2013. Great scores were broken on Saturday and Sunday and the shoot report was available early in the week. I really do not have time to discuss all of the winners at this time but I do know that Shelley wore Pitts out and JC wore Lewis out......fyi

Two shoots this weekend with Charlie Brown and Rockingham hosting typical 300 target programs. Not really sure what the weather will be and the Georgia State Shoot cranks up in the morning. I will try to get some shoot reports from the Ivey's because I know they are attending. Thanks for your patience on this transition and one good thing is that this website is hosted in the cloud. There should never be any downtime according to Justin and that is great.

I will do what I can to beef up the next smoke report and I think that I will be able to add pictures along with the text for the smoke report. Posting the smoke report on the front page of the old site was a little restrictive and this format might allow the smoke report to come alive so to speak. I had a chat with Jeff Solomon at the Dogwood and he had some kind words to say about the site. I appreciate his comments and it makes me want to continue to keep on doing what we have been doing all these years.

Have a great week everybody and look for a big beefy tell all smoke report next Monday morning and hello to my friend Lou down in soggy Florida!
