Rockingham Lewis Class Shoot Report - August 23rd, 2008

Post by smokem »

A good group of shooters attended the August 23rd Lewis Class Shoot at the ROCK. The morning started out a little grey and then the sun popped out near noontime. We did take some pictures but mostly of the handicap squads.

Tom Cox provided a great Henry James BBQ sandwich lunch with potato salad, chips and chocolate cake that was provided by Lewis Wyatt's wife:-) He even had two types of BBQ hot sauce for the sandwiches!

Singles - there were only two 25's broken in the singles and Charlie Rinehart and Lewis Wyatt broke those. High score for the singles was a 48 broken by VA shooter Charlie Rinehart. There were a ton of 46's and most of us that broke 46's thought we were out of the running.

Handicap - there were only two 24's broke in the handicap and Gary Daniels and Lewis Wyatt broke those. Gary Daniels posted the high caps score (47) and this was the very first time Gary had participated in the trap lewis class shoot. He almost won the first LCS he entered with a one off the high score 90!!

There were thirteen shooters and here are the scores - 91.90.89.89.88.88.88.87.87.85.66.66.53.

Chris Shoulars took the hi-gun and will be participating from the "24" yard line next time out. Lewis Wyatt - Lonnie Campbell and Jim Bray took the mid-lewis and Marvin Stinett and Club Prez Roger Haney took low-lewis.

We were pleased to see Wes Whitworth's son Chuck participating at the shoot and we found out that he works for the Greensboro Fire Department. Also, Gary Daniels brought his friend Marvin Stinett to the shoot and we appreciate that!

Well that is about it and we hope you can join us for our next LCS at the Rock. Thanks to J.T. Brewer, Scott Shoulars, David Cox and of course everybody that helped today at the shoot!
