The weather was absolutely beautiful with just a hint of wind. Fall colors appeared in the background a bit with not a cloud in the sky all day. Doubles provided few interesting pairs and I have the video to prove it.
I have included the winners scores for your viewing pleasure and to save me a little time. The shoot was well attended and everybody had a great time. Lunch was great and I was fine until I started smelling those deepcut porkchops on the grill.
I had the honor of scoring for the doubles and watched a real battle between some great doubles shooters. Greg High and Jimmy Wilson tied with 96's in the first 50 pair and when they hit my field for their last 25 pair Greg had a 49 and Jimmy a 47 on their 1st field.
Jimmy had a bunch of ground to makeup and Greg had to keep the peddle to the metal. Jimmy kept the pressure up - 10 - 10 - 10 -10 and yes you guessed it - Jimmy ran the trap. Greg let two birds slip to the tundra and yes the two shooters were tied. Jimmy told Greg let's split the money and you win!
The thickcut porchop dinner with potatoes, rolls, mustard greens, baked beans, nana pudding , cherry crumb cake, lemon squares and Lord knows what else was great. Masterchef Tim Crabtree once again proved that pound for pound he is the best chef around.
It was great to see everybody and I know that Jimmy and the Buckhorn crew really appreciate everybody that shot and all that helped. Hopefully we will get the info from day 2 and we will get it posted as soon as possible.
