The Rockingham Gun Club held their monthly Lewis Class Shoot on the Memorial Day weekend and had a great turnout. We got to see some new faces including Collin O'Bryant, Andrew Kung, Joe and Jerry Woods. The weather was steamy hot with a breeze sliding by once in awhile. Visibility was good but hazy and the targets looked small and fast.
There was one 50 in the singles that was broken by Hot Shot Lewis Wyatt. 48's were posted by Ljutic Lane Murray and JC "Crippler" Nunn. Two 47's were posted by yours truly and Glenn "7/8's" Brewer heading into the caps.
Handicap netted two 47's and they were broken by Luis Gonzales and Freddy Redmon with Doc on post 5 and Freddy the squad leader. Hot Shot Wyatt was only down "1" bird going into his last trap and then the wheel ran off. That 20 on his last trap really cost him but he did hammer the Crippler and that was consolation for Lewis.
Collin O'Bryant broke his 1st 25 ever and Tom Cox gave him a Remington Patch. Joe Woods had gun problems and Jerry shot well for the 100 targets. Andrew Kung shot well and broke an 88 and hit the 2nd Lewis for a few dollars. Winky Mabe's shooting buddy Judy shot well for her 1st Lewis shoot and hit the Lewis all by herself.
All in all I believe everybody had a great time and thanks to all that attended and to all that helped at the shoot. The next registered shoot is the Elmo on the 25th of June. We will be shooting 200 singles (Dan Johnson is the only person to break 200 at the Rock) and 100 handicap. Then the Lewis Class Shoot will be the next day on the 26th at 2PM.
