Smokem And The Crippler - So Grand 2011

Well Thursday is over and JC has laid it on me right off the bat. The weather was great and he posted a 91 in his 1st handicap event. Lewis Wyatt left me a message that basically stated that JC needed to shoot good because if he didn't Lewis would whoop him when he got back to NC.

The weather was great with light winds and sun all day. We pulled a late squad and shot caps on the Gun Club side on bank 3. He might have beat me with a 91 but I got back more money - imagine that.

He opted not to shoot the dubs so the Galloways and I shot them on bank 3 also. I started out rough on the first 50 and wound up with a 45 on the second trap.

All in all we are having a great time and looking forward to Friday. Looks like Charlie Brown won SrVet RU doubles with a strong 96. Harlan won the caps with a 99 and the dubs with a 100..

Addison Callan broke a 93 to tie for Sub Jr high gun caps and lost his extra round by 1. That was some great shooting and at least he takes home the RU award.

We will try to keep you posted and we did take some pictures.

So Grand Friday

The day started off foggy and then the sun came out. There were a lot of good handicap scores broken in minimal wind. The earned yardage report was huge on the RJ Stuart website.

We shot on bank 3 with the same guys we shot with on Thursday. JC got me again and I had a chance to tie on the last post. He hit the Lewis and that made him happy for sure.

We took some time to talk with Billy Thigpen prior to the doubles and they were having a great time.

Jeff started off with a 49 in the dubs and then things got yewgly. The wind came up we were hitting some circus shots.

We have a super early squad so I am headed to bed. We hope everybody shoots well in NC this weekend.

So Grand Saturday

Leo Harrison proved that even with a bad hand he can still whip everybody in singles. There were four 200's broken with a slew of 100's in the morning.

He outshot Kay Ohye - Hunter Clayborn and another fellow and it took only 50 targets. Once again he has proven that pound for pound he is one of the best around.

We shot squad 7 and we are actually on TV and will try to post the link to the clip. The Dollar ran 4 trap banks and everything went smoothly.

We shot a decent (for me) singles scores and acutally put a 9 in front of a score. JC has put a 9 in front of every score since his arrival.

We had no wireless service last night and we posted all the pix and the update in the Silver Dollar clubhouse.

We shoot squad 88 and we will be up in about 1 hour. Hunter shot the first wave out and Jeff was in squad 17.

We hope to have access to the internet and will post the caps winner and pix - hopefully.

I have a ton of pix from Saturday - mash link below:
