Greetings Everyone,

The newest trap field in North Carolina is now open for business.

On Thursday (11/06) Terry Roush (Former Amateur Trap Association President) visited Low Country and certified

the new trap field for registered targets. Pictures of the new trap field will be at the end of this e-mail.

Former Myrtle Grove Gun Club manager Bill Martin moved over to Low Country this past week. He will be responsible for

Trap, Skeet, 5-Stand and the new Sporting Clays course currently under construction.

Registered BIG 50 Trap Shoot

The Smoke ‘em Trap League will hold our first registered Big 50 trap shoot next week on November 12th at 1:00 PM. The Big 50 will be shot at Low Country every Wednesday at 1:00 PM unless cancelled due to weather. Anyone can shoot the Big 50. You do not have to be an ATA member to participate.

However if you must be a member of the ATA or join the ATA at the club to register your targets. As always, we must have 3 shooters registering for the targets to be registered. The Big 50 consists of shooting 50 singles from the 16 yard line in 2 groups of 25 each. We can also shoot 50 registered handicap and 50 doubles if there are 3 registered shooters participating.

Monthly 100 Target Registered Trap Shoot

Low Country will also be hosting a 100 target registered shoot each month. We still need to clear the date with the state ATA to avoid conflicts with other clubs before we can announce the date for the first shoot. We are aiming to have the first one this month or December at the latest.

New Sporting Clays Field Under Construction

Construction has started on the new sporting clays field. There will be 10 stations and approximately 20 machines in use. It should be a fantastic venue with plenty of variety and challenging for shooters of any level. As stated earlier, we hope to have the new course operating before the end of the year. Updated information on the exact opening date, pricing, etc. will be forthcoming soon.

Low Country will be submitting the results of all registered trap shoots to the ATA for publication in Trap & Field magazine in the Gun Club Scores section of the magazine.

Other amenities coming soon for the new trap field include a voice release system, a pavilion located next to the trap field with tables and bench's for shooters to sit between rounds out of the sun, gun racks, etc.

Low Country Preserve is well n the way to becoming one of the premier shooting venues in the state and I encourage you all to join now if you have not already.

Regular yearly memberships are $209 for individuals and $259 for family memberships. For a limited time, Low Country is offering a discounted annual membership for $150 to trap shooters from Myrtle Grove. Be sure to mention the Smoke ‘em Trap League or my name to Todd Dawkins (owner of Low Country Preserve) or the volunteers working that day when you join to receive the special rate. Rounds of trap, skeet and 5-stand are $6 for members and $8 for non-members and guests. For more info and directions go to lowcountrypreserve.com.
