HIGH POINT Mr. Jefferson Dewey (J.D.) Holland, 89, resident of High Point, died September 6, 2016 at High Point Regional Hospital.Mr. Holland was born October 30, 1926 in Guilford County, a son to the late Verl and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Walker Holland. A resident of this area all his life, he owned J.D. Holland Landscaping 57 years and was a member of Oak View United Methodist Church.

On October 5, 1946 he married the former Mary Esther Marsh, who preceded him in death on September 22, 2008. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded by a sister, Ruth Lois Haskew; and two brothers, Floyd and Branson Holland.Surviving are two daughters, Jane Harrison and husband Richard of Gastonia and Amy Holland and husband Dana Martin of Kennesaw, GA; a sister, Elizabeth Folwell of Archdale; three brothers, Sam Holland of High Point, Mack Holland of Archdale and Charles Holland of Sophia; five grandchildren, Emily Leazer and husband Chris, Scott Harrison, Bradley Martin and wife Katy, Zachary Martin and Kyle Martin; and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Leazer and Audrey Leazer.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. Eric Peacock officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
