OTIS BYERS "OB" ANDREWS Jr.

GREENSBORO - Otis Byers "OB" Andrews Jr., 85, passed away suddenly March 18, 2013 at his home in Greensboro, NC.

O.B. was born Oct. 21, 1927 in Greensboro, the son of Otis B. Andrews Sr. and Minnie Davis Andrews.

He was a self- made man who, coming from humble beginnings, made a wonderful life for him and his family. After graduating from Greensboro High School in 1945, he joined the US Navy where he served

in WWII. He went to work for Collson-Murray Company in 1950 as a salesman until purchasing the company in 1972 . He owned and operated the petroleum distribution company until he retired in 1998.

He was member of the Greensboro Masonic Lodge where he was a 32 degree Master Mason. He was an avid Skeet and Trap shooter, sponsoring many skeet and trap shoots. He was a member of the Rockingham County Gun Club and a lifetime sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. He was a charter member of Starmount Presbyterian Church and a Life Member of Elks Lodge 602 both in Greensboro. He also had a love for animals, bluegrass music, hunting and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Davis Andrews.

On Sept. 21, 1950 he married the love of his life, Betty Bethune, who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife is his son, Steven Andrews of Greensboro, NC, daughter, Tricia Andrews McKinney of Reidsville NC and his beloved dog, Cassie.

Funeral services will be on Saturday March 23, at 1 p.m. at Starmount Presbyterian Church, 3501 W Market St., Greensboro NC.
