Friday Info

Post by smokem »

Friday will be a busy day at the Grand. Doubles were cancelled Thursday due to one heck of a storm that rolled through Sparta. With rain and lightning the caps finished about 6pm Thursday +/-.

NC shooters had a good chance of putting some good scores up but some were caught shooting when the conditions were super windy. Jeff Galloway and Chris Sholuars posted 93’s with Tom Brown a 92.

Friday will offer doubles, caps and doubles packed into one day with a more in attendance than any other day. We will be checking on the shooters throughout the day.

Darvin Cornett shot in the COC shootoff Thursday night and went out in the first round. Donna stated that they had to wait 1 ½ hours to get to shoot and that would wear anybody out. Hats off to Darvin for getting into the shootoff and wearing that NC banner on his back.

Some happenings at the Grand include a dead bunny, shot up outhouse and it gets strange from there. The internet is abuzz about a kid that qualified for the 100K shooting a rabbit on the grounds. I don’t have all the details but it gets more complex. Needless to say they had some explaining to do and all of the above might not be totally accurate so bear with me. It still remains to be seen if the kid gets to shoot for the 100k.

Also, the EC and the ATA is the other story with folks being dismissed and the HOF director quitting at the Grand. This will be a developing story and should be very interesting for sure.

It looks like the same kid that whacked the bunny shot the crapper.. Good news is that Chris Shoulars broke a 97 today in the caps and we are waiting for the word if he will be shooting off.

Temps were HOT and the storms stayed away..

Chris Shoulars Wins At The Grand

Post by smokem »

Chris Shoulars broke a 97 in the caps event today and had to shootoff tonight for 3rd place in his yardage group.

He will now be shooting from the 25.5 and hats off to this young man for getting it done.
