Buckhorn Dec 30, 2018

Post by straightaway »

Buckhorn closed out the calendar year with a typical 300 target day on Dec 30.

The weather man got it wrong and we're certainly glad he did. The forecasted rain failed to appear, it was overcast for singles then the sun poked his head out about the time caps started and the rest of the day was perfect. High right at 60 with just a hint of breeze.

A larger crowd than was anticipated came out to play in the mud. We had 34 for singles, 26 for caps and 20 for doubles. DCWC was well represented and there was a good contingent of Boonies on hand. The faithful got the show rolling a little after 9:30 and after keeping the delays to a minimum the last pair of doubles were broken at 3:30.

As usual, lunch was just right with ham, turkey or roast beast sammiches, beans along with cakes, cookies and Karole's wonderfilled cupcakes for desert. She was gracious enough to squirrel a couple of the goodies away for me to enjoy after the shooting was done and they didn't last long.....

Thank You to all that pitched in, Bob, Jeff for helping score and the rest of the faithful that handled all the support chores to make this shoot a success.

As we put 2018 behind us, please take care and be safe in the upcoming year. Remember, you are the only one of you we have so don't damage the goods!

See you next time wherever it is, Dan.
