100th Anniversary NC State Trapshoot
11PM Saturday night - 197 shooters participated in the Championship Singles - Weather was hot and partly cloudy at times.
Kevin Keiner from New Mexico and Jr shooter Drew Cropper from KY posted the only 200's of the day. Charlie Brown, Addison Callan and George Brown tied for NC Singles Champ with 199's.

Addison missed his first and George missed his last target in the shootoff with Charlie Brown perfect with the lone 25. Jeff Galloway won State Singles Runner-Up with his 197.

Great scores were broken all day and doubles and handicap are waiting for the participants in the morning. Hope to have some pix up sometime........

8PM - Friday night...... Singles for the most part was shot in the rain. Watauga Cartel member Steve Watson broke his first 100 and won his class - great shooting. Not sure of all the other singles winners.

Handicap found a bunch of 97's tied up in a knot with father and son Ivey, George Ponton, Lane Murray and Mickey Bell. After three shootoff rounds Mickey broke one more than Lane for the Champ and Lane got runner-up.

VA phenom Clay Floyd slipped across the border and broke 100 doubles hard and not sure who won the doubles in state. Both the handicap and doubles were shot with minimal falling moisture. It did start raining during the caps shootoff.

Saturday is upon us and everybody will be coming out of the woodwork for the state championship weekend. Lot's of kids at the shoot chasing those elusive All-American points and sure great to see all the new faces shooting in North Carolina.

Hello from the State Shoot and we hope you can join us! I have info from Wednesday and Thursday and yes it is raining in Bostic.

This tropical depression has dumped a ton of rain on the area and some shooters did get wet today while shooting. That didn't phase anyone with great scores broken even with the wet weather.

Wednesday winners - Singles higun is still a carryover with 100's - Handicap was won by Marty Wood with a 97 - Doubles was won by Bobby Fowler with a 98.

Thursday found 72 shooters for the singles and 58 shooters broke 90 and above with Roger Latham breaking the lone 100 - Ohio shooter Dean Townsend won the caps with a lone 97 and South Carolina shooter Kenny Inman won the doubles with a lone 98.

Attendance is up and folks are having a great time even with all the precip. Friday looks interesting with remnants of the tropical storm drifting up and into the NC mountains.

If you are traveling be sure to check road conditions with the chance of flash flooding in low lying areas. Rain-X is great if you really want good visibility in heavy rain conditions.
