Greetings from Avon NC and the Outer Banks. The Dixie Grand wrapped up early last week due to weather issues but nonetheless great scores were broken. Two shoots this weekend and one cancellation.
The Dixie Grand is over for 2026 and weather played a big part in the scheme of things. Sunday caps was moved to Friday and Friday caps was moved to Thursday. Singles were shot on Saturday with heavy wind and rain. I will only report the major winners and they include the Doubles Champ Tony Fortino, Singles Champ Gary Hoysradt, Handicap Champ Liam Lawson, HOA winner Cade Harvey and HAA winner Caleb Mathis. Hats off to all that made the magic happen at the NC Homegrounds it is much appreciated. Go to www.shootscoreboard.com for more scores and info.
Marty Hill has reported that Old Hickory at Rocky Mount will not hold a registered shoot this Sunday. Issues stemming for trapshoot help not being available due to issues beyond their control.
Rockingham will host an ATA National Trapshooting Day this Saturday October 17th. Register at 8:30 with shooting to begin as soon as squads are ready. NTM pins will be available. Sunday register at 1 and shoot at 2 for a BIG50 format fun shoot.
That will about do it and I hope everyone has a great week. Signing off from the OBX take care and ……………….smokem
