Great weather weekend and the possibility of inclement weather on Monday. One shoot over the weekend and two BIG50’s this week. Southern Grand is over and several NC shooters are bringing trophies back home to the Tar Heel State.

Buckhorn shot Sunday and the weather for the most part was good with a bit of wind. Mark Cox and Cayson Clayton broke 96’s with Cayson the winner after a reverse score. Cody Lyons got an automatic 1-yard punch for his 97 with 9 entries. Mark Cox and Cody Lyons tied with 87’s and Cody the winner after reverse score. Buckhorn shoots next on April 11-12 so please make a note of it.

CCLEOA shoots a BIG50 this Friday and I have posted the program so please take a look. The Rockingham County Gun Club will host a BIG50 this Saturday with registration at 9 with shooting to begin soon thereafter. The program link has been posted on this site. Weather is looking great in both locations with windy conditions on Saturday.

The Southern Grand is over, and North Carolina shooters won several awards at the competition. Some shooters tied in events and lost in their carryover events, and they included Tiffany Decker, Jeff Galloway and Jacob Gossett. I looked at all the winners, and this is the list below. I might have missed a shooter and at the time of this writing the HOA winners have not been posted. Event 8 – Gary Hoysradt SV Hunter Galloway III 98, Event 10 Jack Knaus Doubles C RU Allan Davis 94, Event 11 Doubles Class Championship JR RU Jacob Gossett, HAA B Class RU Jeff Galloway 195/97/93 385. HOA B Class Jeff Galloway 940. It looks like attendance is up and the great weather certainly helped the turnout.

Some of you are aware that Dan Johnson moved to Ash Flat Arkansas recently and already he has fallen into a deal. He visited one of the local clubs and there on the bulletin board is a treasure trove of loaders, hulls, wads, primers, powder, shot and all the trimmings. It seems that the shooter was moving to Wisconsin and wanted to sell the hoard he had collected. Now Dan would have been looking for supplies anyhow and not only did he secure about 60 pounds of powder he also has almost 20 bags of shot. I don’t know all the loaders he bought but one was a MEC 9000E and a MEC9000H and I will post the pictures somewhere on the site. I need to get some clarification on the gun club he visited that had the curtain background.

That will do it for this week, and I hope this weather threat is minimal. They have already cancelled school on Monday in Greensboro and that is a little concerning. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, John, Art, Barron, Mark C, Mark S, Dan, John W, Jimmy D, Thea and Anne and until next week……smokem
