Nice weather weekend in North Carolina with a touch of rain that moved in Sunday afternoon. One shooting event over the weekend at Watauga and I should have some info by the time I wrap up this smoke report.

Buckhorn shoots this Sunday and the weather is looking great. It might be a tad windy but hey it is a Sunday at Buckhorn. Always a great lunch and you can see the newest Hall of Fame inductee John Miller.

The NC Hall of Fame flier was sent out, and I got my program this week. $35 per person and the meal is always great and you get to spend time with former HOF members and the new inductees Jim Hughes and John Miller.

The Southern Grand cranked up Sunday, and I finally found a site that has the scores. I will post this link and I hope it works. https://rollingscoreboard.com Kevin Biss sent me the singles scores from today and I think about 270 for singles and 250 for caps. Looking at the weather, the only rain day is Thursday, and all other days look great. I hear tell NCTA Prez Marty Hill and Greg High might be riding down for some excitement.

I talked with Phil Berkowitz as he was driving back from Robinson Ranch Gun Club. He shot a BIG50 and said he might be spending several months in the Boone area during the summer. He hopes to get to some of the Watauga shoots and see some NC friends.

MA resident John Sandell is wintering in Florida and is enjoying shooting at the Sarasota GC and he mentioned the trap fields were a little bare due to the start of the Southern Grand. He mentioned he had lunch with Nora Ross Martin considering he had hosted clinics at the Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club and also in MA.

Morgan Shaw had twelve shooters today with Bobby Jones and Shawn Reese tied with 47’s in singles. Tytus Wilson won caps with a 48 and not enough for a punch. Will Price led all doubles entries with a 47 after Morg rebuilding his smokepole. Will and Morg tied for HOA with 134’s. Bobby Jones is moving to Gainesville Georgia to be close to family and get away from the cold. Bobby’s wife had some medical issues, and the cold is not her cup of tea anymore. I guess Bobby will be close to the Georgia State Homegrounds and not sure what other clubs he will be close to.

Ok that will do it for this week. I hope everyone has a great week and get out and shoot a little if you can. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, John, Art, Barron, Mark C, Mark S, Dan, John W, Jimmy D, Thea and Anne and until next week……smokem
