Greetings and looks like a little cooler weather slipped into North Carolina. Not a bunch to report this week and apologize for missing the BIG50 at Watauga January 11th. Hopefully I will get some feedback from Morg before I finish this report on Sunday night.

The NCTA shoot calendars have an update that now has Buckhorn, Watauga and Rockingham dates. It is sort of interesting trying to establish a shoot schedule with other state shoots and out of state events. Of course, things are subject to change so please stay alert. When in doubt you need to check it out before traveling.

I reached out to Mike Jeter in Virginia asking about their shoot calendar for 2026. He said not much goes on in VA until March or April. He said the secretary was working on it currently. I hope to publish shoot calendars for VA and SC when they are available.

I got word from George Sudderth that his surgery went well, and he is up and walking with a walker and using a cane going up the stairs. He has quite a bit of rehab ahead of him, but he says his pain level was minimal compared to what he experienced before the operation. I am sure he will be ready to rumble around the SC/NCHOF shoot at the Homegrounds.

Speaking of the SC/NCHOF shoot it looks like I will be digging for pictures of our newest HOF members John Miller and Jim Hughes. They will be shown at the banquet Saturday night prior to the induction ceremony. Always have a good time so please attend and support the NCHOF. No telling who will be inducted in 2027.

Just got word from Morgan that the BIG50 at Watauga was cancelled due to snow and high winds and not to mention 20 degrees. He did share that Glenn Millers son Ed came out during Christmas with his son to shoot. Evidently the old Krieghoff was pressed into service. Morg said Ed has retired but with two kids in college it might be a while. He also mentioned that BIG D Tollison was back to shooting a bit. Morg was also made the President of the Watauga Gun Club again and congratulations.

Ok that will about do it. I hope everyone has a great start to the week and looking forward to a snowy winter…..That got some of you right there didn’t it. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, John, Art, Barron, Mark C, Mark S, Dan, John W, Jimmy D, Thea and Anne and until next week……smokem
